The Great Invitation (4)

Matthew 11:28-30

INTRODUCTION:

1. The greatest invitation of all – Matthew 11:28-30.

2. This invitation is great because of to whom it is offered.

DISCUSSION:

1. Every man has the ability to respond to this invitation.

a) Jesus would not have extended this invitation to all if not all persons could respond. "Come unto me, all that labor and are heavy laden" - Matthew 11:28.

b) If not every men could respond, if would have been without logic to command the apostles to preach the gospel to every creature – Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-16.

2. Benefits of Christ’s blood are not restricted to a select group.

a) Christ’s death on the cross was a manifestation of God’s love for all the world – John 3:16.

b) When Christ died, he died for all men – II Corinthians 5:14-15.

c) Christ was lifted up on the cross in order that all men might be drawn unto him – John 12:32.

3. God is no respector of persons (nor should we be).

a) Any man who fears God and is a worker of righteousness is acceptable to God – Acts 10:34-35.

b) God desires that all men be saved – I Timothy 2:4, II Peter 3:9.

c) God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked – Ezekiel 33:11.

CONCLUSION:

1. The greatest invitation of all is being offered to you today – Matthew 11:28-30.
